First time customer. This place had great service. Outstanding food and fine selection of beer. The turkey pot pie was not only served quickly it was perfect for the cold rainy day. Definitely a keeper for anyone who wants a local fresh meal. Great menu selection that provides for any eclectic food desire. I travel the country extensively for work and wish I could find this type place everywhere I went it just does not happen. I will be back and highly recommend this establishment to all.

I would have given 5 stars because the food and service were amazing! However the table that we sat at had old food and crumbs and food in the cracks of the table. Very dis appetizing! We had the Turkey pot pie and Caesar salad and shared it. Perfect amount of food for two. We will definitely return but sit at a different table!

Someone at work told me to come eat here but I was skeptical. I thought it would be standard pub fare and grease with some Blue Moon for good measure. Not the case at all!! I've had the Greek burger and the quesadilla (which is on the appetizer menu) each several times now. The atmosphere is great and the service is friendly and genuine.

Had a delicious family dinner here on a recent visit to Coeur D'alene. I had the SWIMMING ANGEL. A Thai dish with steamed spinach, a grilled chicken breast and spicy peanut sauce served over rice. This dish had a nice combination of spices and a hearty feel with the spinach topper. It also comes with bread and a small salad. The meal was fresh with a taste of quality ingredients. While the food was wonderful, the atmosphere was just OK and the service was sufficient. It was a crowded evening and the waitress seemed rushed. Still a good experience and would go here again.

Moon Time is and always will be my go to when I come home...The beer selection is consistently excellent, wine options very good. Food is exceptional every time...I can always count on having a fun, relaxing time. The atmosphere is laid back, but the service is anything but relaxed. They are attentive, approachable and well knowledged of the menu selections. If you are visiting Coeur d'Alene, this is a must stop - a warm and welcoming place that is a local favorite.

Gumbo is yumbo. Lamb burger is to die for. Awesome beers. My wifey thinks it's the best resturant in town.

We went there around 8pm and it was packed. Found one open table and seated ourselves. For how busy it was, service was fairly quick. My wife had the goat cheese beet salad, and it was spot on. I had the Mediterranean Lamb Burger with corn pasta salad. Probably one of the best burgers ever! And the pasta salad was amazing. Good selection of beer and wine as well.

Sometimes you eat and think, "man that was good, I'll try something else next time". Then there are those times you try to order something else and just find that you cannot because it was SO good last time. Welcome to my Santa Fe Chicken sandwich. Poblano peppers roasted with Monterey Jack on top of pan seared chicken breast with very light breaking. Yummo. Would you believe that the meal got better? Corn pasta salad. Holy moly it's good stuff. My father had the chorizo and green chile Mac and cheese which he devoured. A stop worth it every time.

Awesome place to have a pint and a bite. The gumbo is just right! The waitstaff is truly wonderful. The bread is .... Well I love bread and this is by far the best, did I just rave about bread, must be slipping a cog. Menu rotates and changes so return often and have one of each, yet to be disappointed in anything. Did I mention the gorgonzola onion bread? Oh, and the bread...and a pint... Maybe too many pints already. Cheers!

The meditteranean burger and sante fe chicken sandwich were amazinggg! I definitely would go back based on those alone. I wasn't crazy about the pasta salad, but thats not really my thing. The turkey pot pie also looked yum.

It had been three and half years since the last time I had been to Moon Time, so when I got off the plane in Spokane I headed right over to have a delicious lunch at one of my favorite places in the area. Moon Time delivered once again, just like they always have. If you are in Cour d'Alene and want to go to a locals hangout instead of the over commercialized downtown streets the Moon Time is for you. On this trip the daily special was a green chili cheese burger. I decided to try it instead of my all time favorite, the French Dip. The burger was excellent and the chilies brought it home. The real winner here is the roasted corn salad. It really is one of the best sides you could ask for .

Really great atmosphere, albeit busy & sometimes crowded because it's one of the most decent CDA places to get a meal & a beer. Incredible lamb burger, and regular burger.

  • Jesse E.

Great atmosphere, great beer selection, great food, great prices. I especially enjoy the swimming angle and gumbo entrees'. Definitely my favorite down to earth joint in CDA.

  • Jessica C.

Always consistently good! Staff is always great, especially Michelle! Love dollar beer night. The Santa Fe chicken is awesome and the pasta is usually always good. Some days it's spicy and flavorful and some days it's not as flavorful but by far my favorite place to eat!

    (5)
  • Clint G.

A staple of CDA. Thursday night's offer live music and $2 beers while the taps last, go early if you want to ensure your party will get in. The corn pasta is their signature side and always delicious. The lamb burger with goat's cheese tends to be what I choose most but most of their selections should leave you satisfied. Another of their restaurants, The Porch out in Hayden I think offers a little more consistency in the quality of their food but also is slightly more expensive for largely the same menu. Regardless go check Moontime out if you're in the neighborhood.

Loved the low key neighborhood vibe and focus on food of this place (plus the copper top bar) absolutely won me over I was torn between the black bean burger and the Bahn Mi burger our server suggested the Bahn Mi and paired it with a red wine. I was completely satisfied! Boyfriend had the lamb burger (based on the yelp reviews) and was in heaven. I was left jealous of his excellent, creamy potato salad, I had the corn pasta as my side.

Considering I don't know anyone in Idaho...I am writing this Yelp to get other people to book a flight NOW to go to Moon Time and order the Santa Fe Chicken. I'm not sure what else there is to do in Idaho. I know it might be costly to fly somewhere JUST to eat a sandwich and then instantly fly back....but if there were ever a time to do such a thing, this is the time. I'm telling you, I ordered the same sandwich in SD yesterday trying to relive the dream at Terra American Bistro and it sucked. Now, the sandwich at Terra did NOT cost me $1000 in flight and rental car...but I also didn't have a religious experience at Terra. I believe in the Santa Fe Chicken at Moon Time. I worship it. Why? Because the Santa Fe Chicken sandwich at Moon Time is almost too good to be true! It was light and crispy on the outside...and JUICY on the inside. It wasn't killed...it was cooked! It also has this honey cream cheese on it that is OUT OF THIS WORLD...and then, right when you think it couldn't get any better...BOOM...you bite into the sweet, sweet poblano pepper. So...here is what I'm going to do. I will give the first reader of this Yelp who does not live in Washington, Montana, or Idaho $10.00 to try it. That's right. I'll PAY for your meal. That is how confident I am that you will love this sandwich. Of course, my opinion MIGHT BE connected to the fact that I did an Ironman a day before I ate this sandwich...so...sure...I might have been a little "extra" hungry....but I still stand by my offer....you pay for the flight and rental car...I'll pay for your sandwich. Ha!

This place is great for cheap drinks and okay food. Every time I have been there I have been not impressed. The seating is very congested and the live music is way too loud. I do enjoy the pricing but for the congested atmosphere and the obnoxious sound levels draw me off from frequent visits.

    (3)
  • Tyler B.

The food is always delicious and the servers are always friendly. Great beer selection as well, my only complaint and the reason for 4 stars is the smell of the place, I don't know exactly how to describe it, but it just doesn't settle well with me. Other than that, it's a great little place to have a beer and great food!

    (4)
  • Kayla S.

Love the Caesar salad here! I know that sounds crazy but it is delicious!! Highly recommend it.

    (5)
  • Sydney S.

I love Moon Time. I'm obsessed with their corn pasta salad to the point where I'll just get a big portion of that to go.

    (4)
  • Stephen F.

Moon Time is awesome! I've only ever ordered the lamb burger and macaroni salad, but they're both so good there's no reason to try anything else. The price is affordable, dinner and drinks for two was under $40. My only complaint is that sometimes it can get rather loud inside.

Don't get put off by the lounge or roadhouse look from the street. This is a real deal gastropub with great food. One of our favorite meals in a 9-day trip of the Eastern WA and Western ID areas. Open on New Year's Day For The Win! Nice, clean, comfortable space, friendly atmosphere. Server gave us two little tastes of a couple of pale ales to try, then we ordered a pitcher. It was good. Kids' Menu, check. Much more sophisticated and innovative-yet-familiar twists on the menu than we expected to see in CDA. Wife had the open face Sloppy Joe on cornbread with a wedge salad. I had the bean burger with the delicious spicy roasted corn pasta salad. Sounds weird, tastes great. Definitely plan your next CDA visit to include a stop here!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Great place for anyone to go. Every Thursday they have a live band and $1 beers. They have a huge selection of beer and wines and cider. My favorites are the Spire cider and Blackthorn Cider. The Lamb burger is to die for, same with the Blackened chicken soft taco. Excellent service Everytime. Everyone who works their is friendly and knows how to do their job! :) I go here about once a week if not more! My favorite place in CDA for sure. If you go to Spokane I suggest trying The Elk and The Porch which is in Hayden! They are all same owners and menus are very similar.

    (5)
  • Tatum H.

The service was fast, and they had a decent selection of beer. I had my first lamb burger, and I must say it was delicious! Our server was very accommodating when their keg blew and produced a less than ideal pour. Would go again!

  • Danielle C.

Always always always my favorite!!! Great food, atmosphere and beers! Wait staff are seasoned and know how to take care of ya. It's a local favorite. Try the roasted corn pasta.

  • Jeremy S.

Skip the downtown fare and head here. Looks like a dive trap from outside bit great gasto style menu. Beer selection is varied but no local brews. Had the Creamy Beef and Mushroom soup to start. Great chunks of need and potato. Excellent flavor but didn't prep me for the lamb burger. Was amazing. Must have! Goat cheese and red pepper topped medium cooked lamb burger was amazing.

One word Delish! We're visiting out of town and looked up this place on yelp. My hubby had the lamb burger and I ordered their special Kona burger. They both were juicy, with perfect combination of ingredients and sauces. Super busy but I can see why... would totally return next time we're in town.

Stopped here for lunch while on a road trip. The food was all so good. Especially enjoyed the roasted corn pasta salad that came with the sandwiches.

Drinker beware! I've seen multiple different bartenders on multiple occasions making various drinks and they all scoop the ice directly from the ice bin with the glasses. As any seasoned bartender knows, you NEVER. EVER. put a glass directly into the ice bin. They chip, leading to glass chips in a customers drink. The whole thing can break too. Clearly a management training issue. Hopefully they address this because it's concerning.

    (1)
  • Dawn H.

First time here and was tempted to have the lamb burger that so many raved about...but they had a Kona Burger on special so I ordered it. Ham, pineapple, teriyaki deliciousness. So. Good. And the side of corn pasta was great. My partner had the spicy beef tacos & said they were to die for. Also a decent beer selection.

My husbands favorite place to eat a casual meal. Lamb burgers, salads, even the veggie burger, soups and specials are all very good. Never had a disappointing meal. Kitchen has always been willing to change around the menu for us, which is always a plus when you have young kids or a pain in the butt dietary requirement. Usually quick service and I'm always fascinated the wait staff can remember the order without writing it down. Not bar food, but pub food which there is always a distinction.

  • Corenne M.

Great Atmosphere! Delightful Menu...we were driving through: lunch, no ales, but huge selection. GOOD FOOD! Not a ton of GF selections, but the Swimming Angel made up for it!

    (4)
  • K S.

I love that you can switch meat for tofu on all of their meals and they also have vegetarian options on the menu as well. The place is great, very Idaho, but cute and clean. I don't like that they don't have a full bar, but you can check out their sister restaurant (The Porch) if you want a full bar. The food is good, service is great and it's a staple to downtown CDA. Great local spot!

  • Riyah M.

This place is the best in town! Never disappoints. I've never had a meal I dislike. I've tried just about everything on the menu and all of it is super super wonderful! My personal favorite is the gumbo, but beware it's super spicy. Good beer too!

    (5)
  • Nathan H.

Came here for dinner expecting your typical bar fare...and boy was I disappointed...in the BEST way possible. The food here is GREAT. First...this is a restaurant, not a bar, so yes, children are welcome. Second, if it is on special, it is probably good...go for it...what ever it is. Third, if you don't try anything else, at least try the spicy beef tacos. Not too spicy but, just right (sort of like goldilocks). In addition to excellent food they have a great selection of beers. My only complaint is that I wish they had more draft selections but, hey, with a great selection of bottled beers, I can't complain too loudly. Seriously, stop in, bring the kids, sit back, relax, and enjoy the Moon Time.

The only negative was that husband didn't want to go the next day for lunch after all my begging and pleading. We heard great things about this place and were looking for a "bar" feel without the extremes of disgusting, smelly dive and out-of-control artisanal snob fest. The place was perfect. We were going snowshoeing that day so we could "earn" our lamb burger calories, but that fell through and we overate any way. Superb choices on food and drinks, but the highlights: *My new favorite drink- Spire Dark and Dry Cider. I didn't know I needed you. Now I do. We actually looked up the brewery that made Spire that evening (in Everett, WA!!!) so we could eat and feast on Spire the next week. *The lamb burger- it's as good as they say. I wasn't even that hungry when I came in but I couldn't believe how juicy and spot on the flavors were. I imagined the sous chefs in the back sprinkling some magic love powder into each and every one of those wonderful burgers before they came out. *Soup- beef and bacon- delicious. Totally homemade. It was meaty and light at the same time. *Garlic toasts- garlic butter/oil slathered on top of soft-in-the-middle, crispy-on-the outside bread. I made a mistake ordering with gorgonzola which detracted from the garlic. Next time I'll get 2 orders JUST for me with garlic only. *Walnut mushroom pesto pasta- delicious and not good for you. Nutty, rich, "meaty", and spicy. Couldn't finish a third of it so we had it the next day for dinner in our hotel. Kept incredibly well and was AWESOME after the snowshoeing. Staff was quick and knowledgeable. The waitress who took our order told us the Cajun ravioli was sold out (next time!), and she also poured me a few samples of cider so I could decide which one to order. Kudos to her for also keeping my purse safe, which I left at the bar. Fly me to the Moon (Time) and let me eat up all the lamb...

  • Jim H.

Great atmosphere, great beer, great service. The food was good, but I would not put it in the "great" category. My wife was quite disappointed by their lack of options for a person restricted to a gluten-free diet.

We were meandering around "downtown" Coeur d'alene debating what we should eat. We pulled out our smart phones to see what yelp had to say when we were approached by a young woman who had just arrived in her time machine from 1995. (Apparently Portlandia extends to Coeur d'alene, ID.) She had been sitting at nearby coffee shop and had overheard our conversation. She then went out of her way to interrupt out conversation to explicitly recommend The Moontime. (If it had been me, I would have chuckled to myself and let such bumbling "tourists" fend for themselves. Clearly she is a better person than I am.) Anyway, at the behest of the coffee shop girl we ventured to the Moontime. Not only did Moontime have a wide selection of craft beers, but they also had the BEST food in Coeur d'alene . . . perhaps even in all of Western Idaho. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli. It was incredible. My mouth wanted more, but my stomach was pretty eff'n happy. Others in our party ordered the gumbo, the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich, and the Turkey Pot Pie. We left no casualties behind. Not one crumb. Thank you magical time-traveling coffee shop girl. You were right - best food in Coeur d'alene.

Lamb burger is so tasty! The burger could use some greens like cucumber slices (to keep with the Mediterranean theme) or standard lettuce. Warning: chicken parm comes with salad and NO pasta. LOL.

  • Jeffrey H.

A local favorite that seems to be run by enterprising gastronomical expert. Fresh ingredients done in a different pattern than the same old ho hum fare good experience with wait staff and wonder food.

Lamb burgers and Saffron pasts in CDA? Sign me up! Great microbrews on tap, to boot.

  • Patrick L.

Hands down the best meal we had in Coeur D' Alene! The first time we drove-by we decided not to eat here based on the appearance outside but we are so happy we ended up giving Moontime a chance. The ambience is like an old neighborhood pub with high ceilings and lots of open space. There were six of us and everyone loved their meal and we ordered the brownie for dessert and it too was great. Great service, great food, great prices, and great beer = great experience!

Well worth a visit if'n you're hungry in the land of hard-to-spell-towns/lakes. Cuban sandwich was about the best I've ever had. Simply perfectly tasty. Roasted corn pasta salad was excellent. Service was terrific. Complaints? A place like this should have totally kick'n french fries... but they are sadly banished from the menu. Why oh why?? Something funky, something fancy, something starchy, crispy, and hot. Bring it (pretty please).

  • Charles C.

We went here based on the review of one of the locals and now are we glad we went. Didn't have any of their beers but we had the roasted garlic bread appetizer, that was pretty good. Wife had the Lamb Burger with corn pasta salad. Raving review on that from her, plenty of goat cheese on the burger and the pasta salad had a really nice heat to it. I had the Moon Burger with potato salad. Flipping delicious! Huge patty and a whopping amount of potato salad. Cool atmosphere in there. It is well worth visiting!

    (5)
  • Allison D.

As mentioned by another Yelper, the lamb burger was amazing! The pasta salad was also incredible. The Moo Shu burger from the daily special menu and potato salad were good but not amazing like the other entree. Friendly service, gave refills on ice tea and fountain drinks. The ambiance is a bit dark on a sunny day but clean and cozy overall. Highly recommend.

I love moon time. I'm pretty picky about places and I am not all too pleased with what downtown CDA has to offer most of it is bland. Moontime is a great break from the mundane. They have very original food for a pub environment which I think is cool. It's way too easy for a pub to cop out and do frozen fryer foods like chicken strips and nachos. This place is way different. Think boo jah which is a pork and shrimp cake with a spicy thai aioli on a top of rice with cilantro. Or how about lamb burger or a great gumbo. I no longer drink but I have glanced and know they have a great beer selection too.

today marked the beginning of our western adventure--first stop coeur d'alene, idaho. nestled perfectly between our origin and destination (spokane and sandpoint), coeur d'alene provided breathtaking lakeside views, glimpses of the elegant american bald eagle, and delicious food. moon time is cute and cozy, adorned with the owner's personal photographs of various european bars and pubs. vibe is calm and relaxed - think: football game playing at the bar and tons of local beers on tap. I won't skirt around it, the mediterranean lamb burger really is that good. I also tried the soup of the day - coconut duck. hellooo "oven roasted duck, onions, red and green bell peppers, celery, fresh garlic, spinach and rice simmered in duck stock with coconut milk, tumeric, fresh basil and cilantro." need I say more?

  • Jessica C.

Great spot for good food in a pub atmosphere. Thursday nights get crazy with dollar pints and live local music but that is part of its charm. I am not crazy about 90% of the servers they hire but the food is great for the price and the owner is amazing. Plus they give a great selection on tap.

This is a great place to go in CDA for good beer and good food. Unique for the area.

  • Anora K.

the food is far better than average but seasoned VERY bland, probably to cater to the super geriatric crowd that seems to enjoy dining here. I expected the ambiance to be more dark and intimate and hippy-esque. Its pretty bright and boring and sports-bar looking. Really, everything I ordered was fresh tasting and they even have hard cider!

After a vigorous morning workout hiking Mineral Ridge I decided to stop here for a cold one or three and some lunch. Wow. The service was whip smart fast and accurate. I had a Hale's Cream Ale with nitro charge because Sundays are always NITRO SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY from growing up in the "Drag Racing Generation" I'm normally not a cream ale drinker as I am a manly man who likes a thick dark beer that only the manliest of men may imbibe but damn this stuff was smoooooooove. I had like three or four them with lunch and didn't even feel it until I t-boned my jeep at high speed into a minivan full of nuns. JUST KIDDING. Always drink responsibly. So, the lunch. OMFG. The chef here is a shaman. A magician. I had the "North Idaho Sloppy Joe" special, which on the face of it sounds frightening. It conjures up images of diced squirrel, out of season poached elk, maybe some northern pike mixed up in a ketchup and government surplus cheese sauce and dumped on Snyder's Buns and served on a shiny plate made from a recycled 87 Subaru Brat bumper (the official Car-Truck of North Idaho). Nope. Fantastic melange of pork, ground beef, tomato based sauce w green peppers, onions, other stuff and more other stuff I forgot piled on the most incredible jalapeno cornbread (who knew?) and on the side, two wedges of iceberg lettuce w blue cheese dressing. Fantastic. I can't even say how much. This place made me love North Idaho even more and made me wish I lived there. The setting was basic pub with some hipsters propped up in tables along the window looking sufficiently postmodern and ironic to give it that certain hipster cred that Men Who Have Forsaken Razors and Personal Grooming and the Tattoo'd Geek Chic Women Who Adore Them must have to make themselves feel complete and connected to a post-ironic universe contextualized to boring folk and alt-country music that nobody actually likes. Dig!

Food was GOOD, beer was GOOD, service was perfect. It had a weird vibe, a vibe so odd that I don't think we'll go back. Carpet needs to be taken out STAT :O( My daughter was there this summer, they had a banjo band playing etc and she thought it was fantastic! Maybe it would have been had there been more people in there or some live music going. Honestly, we couldn't wait to get out of there and we searched this place out. Long story short, go and check it out for yourself and make your own decision.

  • Nicole E.

Dinner here was delicious! I had the ravioli and my friend the lamb burger that everyone else here is raving about. He said it was well worth the raves and I cleared my plate. The server was super friendly and prompt. I have no complaints about The Moontime and would return if in the area again.

Every time I go here it is great. They have a good food and beer selection and the waitstaff is always very friendly and attentive. I recommend Moontime as a great place to eat or just for a beer.

We went into this place based on reviews on Yelp. What a find! It is very casual, family friendly, and the food is fantastic. We are spending 4 nights in Couer d'Alene and leaving tomorrow. We ate there last night and went back tonight! The food is fantastic. Last night we had the Chicken Caesar Tacos with the Roasted corn pasta . . . YUM. Tonight we shared a BBQ Chicken Quesedilla with a roasted Onion Sour cream sauce that was to die for. Hubby had the spicy beef tacos with the yummy corn pasta. I opted for the smoky tomato ravioli stuffed with portabello mushrooms and a basil pesto sauce. YUM! I have left overs. Might be a midnight snack!! We will be going back to Moon Time any time we are in town! I think I have died and gone to heaven!

I guess I just don't get it. Locals swear by this place, but there are soooo many cool, chic, nice bars in CDA that are more hip & upscale that I can't figure out why people want to spend their evening here. It definitely has a following though, it's just not my kind of place I guess.

Stop 1 of my brother's bachelor party (technically 2, after cliff diving at Tubb's Hill into Lake Coeur D'alene). They had damn delicious burgers and food, and beer. I'm not really too big on lamb, unless it's done right, and here I had the lamb burger. I think they missed out by not calling it a lamburger. I mean, come on, you don't get the opportunity to do that every day! Anyways, it was flavored with rosemary, topped with pesto and feta cheese. With a description like that, how could you not order it? My brother had the steak sandwich and it was good, but he had to use only one bun because they slathered chopped garlic on way too thick on the top bun. I love garlic and it burned my mouth when I tried it. Just overpowering all around! They have a really good selection of micro-brews for a Coeur D'alene burger den. Service was sort of slow, but we didn't really mind too much, we were all too busy BSin' and reminiscing about the good old days.

We are not from Coeur d'Alene, and we stopped in the Moontime for a quick bite and cold beer after a long drive. Both my husband and I ordered the Anderson Summer Ale, which was lite and delicious. We also both got the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich. It had some great flavors going on, but it was so overly saturated with grease from the breaded chicken, cheese, and cream cheese that it was really hard to enjoy. I think not breading it and adding something like tomatoes might be a good thing. My side was the roasted corn pasta salad. It was really tasty. I would probably go back, but maybe be careful about my ordering.

Excellent food and friendly staff. Attention to detail and a kitchen staff that sings along to great rock music playing. Ice cold bear and very awesome chicken sandwich. Must go to dining spot in CdA.

Dollar pint micro brews and the best bean burger around. I hear they also treat their employees well, which makes them really stand out in Idaho.

My husband and I were in the area for a few days. Our inn keeper said this is where the locals eat so we thought we would try it out. Really wish we had tried somewhere else. It is nothing more than low end bar food. I even read the reviews and got the Santa Fe Chicken as many suggested. It was just bad. Breaded chicken breast with cheese on it. My husband had the French Dip and said the bread was extremely stale. I wouldn't say we are big foodies and usually can eat anywhere but this was really not a good place to eat. Food has way too much salt in it. My husband enjoyed the beer. If you are looking for a place to be with the locals and try some new beers this is your place. I would not recommend eating here for dinner. Staff was friendly. As we only had two dinners in town I was really disappointed to spend one here. Gave it two stars for the friendly staff and beer. Dinner go somewhere else!

I have seriously mixed emotions about writing reviews for places that I eat at while on the road. I'm not from Couer D'alene, so, for all I know, this might be the best place in town. Anyway, the place made up in authenticity what it lacked in originality. I'd prefer this to the faux-surfer set inhabiting other eateries in the area.

Only been here once, but if I modify my rating I would expect it to only go up. This place has great beer and even better food, but everyone has already said that. I was pleasantly surprised with the family friendly and laid back atmosphere. Definitely a place to check out at least once....I'll be back!

Pretty nice spot. Cozy, welcoming pub atmosphere, and good place to bring a group when you're looking for great tasting American diner style cuisine, without spending a ton on each plate. Most of the delicious regular menu items are soups, sandwiches, pastas, and salads. They do specialties too that they change up frequently, which they prepare them from scratch to give that fresh homestyle quality most foodies will enjoy. It's also the kind of place you wouldn't need to get food at, but could just post up at the bar and order a beer and some warm cashews (which are delicious), and be perfectly comfortable and welcome. It's a pretty versatile place, and could be a good spot for lunch or dinner, or a good place to go with a group of friends, family, or even a date. Whenever I have friends or family in from out of town, I suggest this as a place to eat. I think it's a pretty accurate window into the personality of the more hip parts of Coeur d'Alene.

This was one of my favorite meals ever... I ordered the Mediterranean lamb burger and my dad one-upped me and got the daily special, sloppy joes on jalapeno corn bread. We decided to split our meals, and both were sensational. I won't waste my time attempting to describe how delicious they were, but I highly recommend them. When you add an amazing draft beer selection (Deschutes Obsidian Stout on tap...), you have yourself a very memorable meal. Plus our waitress was awesome.

Husband and I visiting CdA for first time. Stopped at Moon Time for lunch per advice from a local who worked at Independence Point. I ordered an appetizer for my entree, the BBQ Chicken quesadilla. Was very, very tasty. Just the right size for my lunch, since I was rather hungry and not usually a big eater. Especially liked the onion and cilantro flavors, along with the sauce. My husband ordered the moon burger and said it was delicious. He ordered chips, but received pasta instead. Waitress apologized and brought the chips quickly. Worked out ok, i suppose, because i took a bite of the pasta and thought it was very tasty. :-) Husband had to ask for a refill on his water instead of the waitress noticing an empty glass although that isn't unusual for him; he empties the glass quickly. Hard for me to give a 5 when the order is not correct; however, I definitely recommend Moon Time and can't wait to retun.

The service here really is great, the atmosphere is cozy. It is a very strangely laid-out restaurant/pub, but it works for the whole ambiance. If you're looking for food that you'd find in most of your standard pubs, you're not going to really find a lot of it here. It's got a lot of different stuff. I've tried a few things, but wasn't really a fan of many of them. My husband loved everything he ordered, and loves the whole place, and would likely give it 5 stars himself. They have a very large selection of various brews, some more unique than others. I won't necessarily jump at the opportunity to go again, but wouldn't shoot down the suggestion if it came up.

Excellent! We had the Green Chili Burger, the Potato Salad, the Chicken Parmesan, the Pesto Ravioli, and the Santa Fe Chicken. All delish! And Black Butte Porter on draft is always a winner. (They have a good Cab too, McMalis.) Nice, comfortable, low-key atmosphere. And the service was impeccable, even though our server, Keri (sp) got really busy. She was a doll! We will be back for sure.

Not only the best gastropub in CdA, but one of my overall favorite restaurants, period. Moon Time made me into a soup fanatic. I have a cup of their soup de jour every visit without fail. The most amazing thing is that the recipes share a lot of the same ingredients but are rarely similar and never have I had the same soup twice (I've come to accept this but sometimes the days special is so amazing you wish it would be a permanent staple on the menu). Every meal I've had here has been beyond satisfying. Weekly specials are always fabulous, and tend to gravitate towards pasta dishes. Some of my favorites from the regular menu are the Moon Burger, BBQ Chicken Quesadilla, Grilled Onion Bread (add gorgonzola), and the Caesar Salad (house made dressing w/o raw eggs is great). Service is always quick and pleasant, beer selection is great and served very COLD! Good prices all the way around the menu (I generally spend around $20 for two with a beer and tip included). This spot stays pretty busy around dinner and especially on Thursdays which are live music and $1 pint night (until the keg blows). Make sure you give Moon Time a try, they are not to be missed!

Corn pasta side is a tasty healthy choice. I really liked their pesto ravioli stuffed with asiago cheese and crimini mushrooms. Fun place to sit back and have a nice beer. Decent selection of micro brews and a very friendly staff.

I absolutely love this place. Amazing food! The chef even balances the PH of each meal so that when you eat it, you won't get a stomach ache afterwards! How awesome is that?!?!

Friendly staff when we stopped through on a long road trip. It was close to the freeway exit and convenient. We ordered the pork sandwich without the bun, which was good. The potato salad was yummy and well-portioned. The spinach salad was also very good, the honey mustard dressing excellent! Good value for good food. Very friendly waitstaff and the check came quickly but we didn't feel rushed. Over all a great meal!

Yummy! We had the French dip, chicken salad Caesar taco, BBQ chicken quesadilla, potato salad, pasta salad, honey bacon spinach salad. Loved it all. Iced tea was tasty and real. Service friendly and efficient.

An awesome pub located outside of the touristy area of CdA, I came for beer and nuts, and I still can't stop thinking about it. Anderson Valley (my FAVORITE brewery of all time) on tap and curry cashews almost make me wish I lived in Idaho. Almost. Stop by if you're in the area and have a drink or two. And be sure to try the nuts, because they are some kind of awesome.

We (my folks and I) decided to try this place during our brief stay in CdA based on some of the reviews. Food: While MoonTime doesn't have a huge menu, it appears that everything on it is good. I had the gumbo - spicy, well seasoned, dark, rich broth and served with sliced baguette. Ma had the Lamb burger and Dad the special which was a bacon pasta. I tried some of the pasta sauce - slightly smokey from the bacon, rich cream, very garlicky with a slight aftertaste of good olive oil. Dad said it was the best past he has ever had. I didn't get to try to any of the lamb burger 'cause Ma wouldn't part with any of it. We also tried the curried cashews as an appetizer, and while they were good, I wasn't that impressed. Location: A little hard to find. Looked it up using Google places and kept getting directed to the back of the restaurant. It's in a older part of town removed from the main street - which is good. Ambiance: It's a pub. When it started to get full, it got loud. It got difficult to hear each other talk. Lots of reflective surfaces. Service: Our server was great. Attentive enough that we didn't feel slighted, but left us alone to enjoy our meal. Overall - definitely a place to try if you're in Coeur d'Alene.

I've eaten here probably 20 times and I either have the Turkey Sandwich or (when it's available) the pulled pork! You can't go wrong with either.

We were looking for a casual place for dinner when in town for the night and decided to come here. It was a casual atmosphere, what seemed like a locals spot. Service was great, the woman helping us was really good, checked in on us enough and got our food quickly. We ordered a spinach salad a big salad to start, which was actually really good - lots of bacon. Then I got the chicken sandwich (just okay) and my husband got the gumbo, which didn't have enough rice for him and even though I love spicy food, even a couple bites for me was enough. He didn't eat too much. Good selection of beer and they had cider for me. Overall, a fine place, but food's nothing great.

G-g-g-g-g-get the L-l-l-lamb B-b-b-b-burger. It's *that* good. Popped in here for dinner after a cross country flight and was glad I found this place through Yelp! We were seated immediately, but the service was really spotty. The girl was working the room by herself (or at least we never saw anyone else but her working). She was efficient, don't get me wrong, but good golly it would have helped to have another person helping her out. The lamb burger was absolutely delicious. The seasonings, the texture, all so yum! It came with a pasta salad that is apparently pretty popular, but I only had a few bites of it (very creamy, probably lots of mayo, unhealthy for me, stayed away even though it tasted good). My partner ordered the ribs that were a special that night, and he didn't think they were very good. He said they tasted like ribs that just had sauce poured over the top of them. I'd totally return for the burger, although I hear there is a sister location in Spokane (with a different name) that has the same menu. If you know which one it is, and you're closer to Spokane, give that lamb burger a try--I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

This is one of my favorite places to go for a well made, tasty and simple meal. They always have a great selection of craft brews and decent wines to pair with your meal. I'vve yet to have something I didn't like, but I've got to say that the one thing everybody ahould get is their curried cashews. I could drink beer and eat these things all day long!

Normally don't order bean burgers when I out since I make a nice one myself. Most end up tasting like Boca burgers. Not here! This burger tasted fresh, had a bit of a nutty and ethnic flavor . Perfect blend of savory and spice. Highly recommend it. Corn pasta was good- had a kick of nice spice. Kids quesadilla was a generous portion with a delicious fresh salsa!

Stopped on one of my many road trips on a semi-busy Sunday night just lookin for some decent bar food. Waaay better than expected. I had a lamb burger - SO good - & my aunt had the cuban pork sandwich, crazy good. The roasted corn pasta salad, amazing. I will definitely stop there anytime I'm in the area.

I had the Gumbo there and it was very good. So I went back after bragging about it. 2nd time is was nothing like the first time. Watery and had a odd almost moldy taste. Reminded me of running low on gumbo so throw in water and extra spice to cover up the short comings the waitress was nice so i left without complaining! Not her fault Very disappointed and would not recommend or go back

it says right on the door ...sit yourself, but when we did, we were told not to. I feel sorry for our Mom who's been standing by the door for a long time (by the way, they don't have a waiting area where you can seat and our mom is disabled). So we went back by the door while we are watching alot of young people getting drunk (at 7 in the evening). The bar and the Resto is together.... Obviously this is another Resto who's being manage by someone who don't even have a clue what they are doing. We only went here because of the review and we are not coming back too. This Resto is not good for family specially at night... Anyway, thats just my opinion

One of the best places to eat in the Inland Northwest. If you like Moon Time & you're willing to be adventurous - head to Hayden & try The Porch or downtown Spokane to try The Elk or eventhe south hill in Spokane to try the Two Seven. More recently they've opened El Que, which is a tacos and margaritas bar! wedonthaveone.com

A moontime devotee for years, I don't think anything has passed my lips as foodgasmic as the new Chili Beef Burrita. A big fan of the Chicken Burrita, that has been off the menu for quite awhile, I was anxious to try the Chili Beef Burrita. At first bite, I was in food heaven. $11.95 for one BIGGGGG meal, or $11.95 for lunch AND dinner... guess it depends on how hungry you are. The cilantro pesto sauce is amazing. My only complaint is that the beef is a little on the salty side and I always swell up like a bloated chick balloon after eating, but SOOOOO worth it.

Had dinner here on a bustling Friday night. They have a good beer selection, for starters. Tried the SW chicken sammy and the veggie bean burger. Both were good. I also enjoyed the original pasta salad on the side. I'm interested in checking out more of their menu!

Every time I come back to CdA, I have to come by Moontime. I have early memories of going there when they first opened (at least a decade ago) and still love the place. They have a great selection of beers and nice old wooden chairs and tables. The Caribbean Pork Sandwich is probably my favorite thing there (they took it off the menu once and I protested so much they put it back on, at least I like to think it was because of me). The reason I minus a star even through undying love is only because every time I have had fish there, it was way overdone and rubbery. But there is a very creative and energetic team behind the food and service as told through the friendliness of the servers and wide variety of weekly menu specials.

Cute bar/restaurant. The Colorado chili was average, but the BBQ chicken quesedilla was out of this world. It was so good my sister went crazy and started talking to her plate once it was all gone. :0)

When I'm visiting great Pacific Northwest Inland Empire, I can likely be found at Moontime, drinking a beer, maybe playing one of the games that they have on shelves, then drinking another beer. It is a perfect place to escape the elements (hot, dry summer or cold, snowy winter) and just hang out as if it were a cafe. The food--housemade bean-based veggie burger, quesadillas, etc-- is also good, but the beer and ambiance are what I come for.

Not a particularly refined place, but the unusual and amazing food combinations make up for it. I can't get enough of the spicy gumbo. The aforementioned chicken sandwich's honey cream cheese is a winner. I'd have everything on the menu if I could. It's not that it's the best or that you can't find unusual food combinations elsewhere, but you can only find the Moontime in CDA. Stop by.

Vegan review- Just ok, not many choices here. All salad dressings seemed to have dairy, so only had oil/vinegar. They have tofu (although not listed on the menu) and they offered to sub it on any sandwich. Problem was, all sandwiches were flavored with either cheese or some mayo concoction - proving it difficult to not end up with something bland. I had a tofu-burger, which was really a warm slab of tofu (garden herb) - not grilled, on a nice bun (probably not dairy free, but I was getting desperate), with lettuce, toms, and onions. The beer was good...

Ahhhh....Moontime. Awesome Beer, sandwiches, pasta and gumbo when they have it. Try the pesto, turkey sandwich, linguini and clams or the lamb burger. Always good, always fast. Best lunch in Coeur d' Alene by far. Go mountain biking on Canfield mountain, finish by Fernan and stop in at Moontime for a nice beer and burger. Great way to wind down a day in Idaho.

  • Jen G.

We stopped in to the Moontime because one of my husband's co-workers said that they had the best chicken sandwich in the whole wide world. And when someone makes such an outrageous claim, it behooves us to give something like that a fair shot at impressing our pants off. Um, yeah. I wouldn't go as far as to call it the best chicken sandwich in the whole wide world, let alone the Pacific Northwest, or even the state of Idaho. But I would maybe give it best chicken sandwich in Coeur d'Alene honors. Decent, served with cream cheese stuffed poblano peppers underneath a melty layer of cheese, but not best ever. Sorry. Though, the Moontime has a kickass draft beer selection, and if we weren't there in broad daylight on our way out of town, we might've partook in some libations. Next time, as the downtown area of Coeur d'Alene is as cute as a button, and we'll be back.

Lamb burger was good, but nothing as special as the previous reviews. I could have made it at home, it's just ground lamb with feta on top. Also tried the Cuban which was good, a unique and tasty sauce. Nothing unique for beer, but a satisfactory selection. The staff were VERY quick and super nice! Try the corn pasta salad, it's pretty yummy.

Looking for somewhere to eat in the CDA? Let me make it easy for you... get in your car and drive about 1/2 a mile down past all of the regular places on Sherman Ave and grab a table at Moontime. Incredible food, good space, happy wait staff and excellent beer.

So great, went here for lunch and had the aforementioned Lamb Burger. It was great, I recommend highly. Had a good brew there as well, think it was a local beer, blue moon or something, it was cold and went with the lamb burger perfectly.

Another favorite in the wild, wild west.... ok CDA isn't so wild any more, but it sure is a beautiful place. Check out Moontime for no bs great food. The lamb sandwich is an all time classic. Live music a couple nights a week, super friendly staff that knows their stuff. Check it... 5 stars.

i'm so in love with everything about this place. from the food to the beer to the picture of the triangle pub in fremont above the toilet in the women's bathroom. that picture makes me happy because i love fremont. anyway, back to moontime...the food is out of control--there is everything from a killer rosemary infused lamb burger to jambalaya to ahi. my favorite is the chicken sandwich...i'm going to say the best one i have experienced thus far...there is HONEY cream cheese & a poblano pepper. talk about genius! the best part about this place is they have Blue Moon on tap...served with an orange wedge. i would have to say of all the atrocities committed at bars & pubs in this world, serving this glorious brew without that orange is among the worst. every establishment that does this should be fined and shut down. if you enjoy a laidback place, with awesome food at great prices, i give moontime the highest recommendation. i've heard they have great beer selections, too; i just haven't ever taken the time to look because can't get past the fact they have Blue Moon...it makes me so excited!
